Let’s face it—home ownership is a blessing that comes with a lot of unexpected surprises, and not all of them are welcome.
At Electric Express we understand what you’re going through. As a family owned and operated business, our electricians are our family, and we know what it’s like to maintain and build upon something that is your own.
For the past three decades we’ve been the go to local electrician, working to help homeowners throughout the Sydney region. We address their electrical concerns and emergencies so they can go about their lives knowing that the lights will stay on, the water will be hot when it’s supposed to, and that their families will rest in comfort and safety.
We also offer plumbing services. Sometimes when things break down, people are unsure if they have a plumbing problem or an electrical problem. Particularly in areas like hot water service. In truth, these two trades often interact and need to work together to get a variety of jobs done. We don’t believe it should fall on the homeowner to manage this process alone. All it takes is one easy phone call to arrange all your electrical and plumbing needs. We will make sure the right people are brought on site at the right time so the job is done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Every home is different and presents its own set of challenges when it comes to providing electrical services, and that’s why you need a local contractor who has handled just about every electrical emergency and project imaginable.
Not only is it important to hire an electrical contracting service that is capable, you also need one that is available to provide its services at a moment’s notice.
The Electric Express family is capable of handling all of your electrical and plumbing needs:
Meet Steve & His Family
Hi, I’m Steve Hutchings, your local electrician, and I’d like to introduce you to my family and tell you a little bit about how our business came to be. Over the years, not only has Electric Express helped more homeowners than we can count find solutions to their electrical issues, we’ve also had a lot of laughs and good times along the way. We’re electricians through and through, so give us a call today on 0411 188 492.
Recently I had to go over and sort out a friend's house - their electricity had gone down just as they were leaving to go out! I found Steve's magnet on their fridge and gave him a call. It was late afternoon. Steve responded and was there within the hour after finishing another job first. I assumed it was just a fuse that needed changing but when Steve arrived he showed me a very ancient fuse box which obviously hadn't been touched in over thirty years!! Steve stayed for over three hours, making several suggestions ranging from temporary fixes to replacing a whole new board. We went with the latter thanks to a very reasonable quote from Steve, and he didn't baulk at the fact it was going to take several hours in the dark to put in with his trusty torch. When it was finally installed this showed up further electrical faults in the house, which Steve methodically tracked down one by one. He got it all up and running and was still smiling at the end of it. All I can say is his customer service was impeccable, his quote was very reasonable and he's obviously a very patient man! My friends were very happy when they got home and everything was working. I highly recommend Steve Hutchings next time you need a trustworthy, honest and reliable electrician. Many thanks again Steve!!

As a family owned and operated electrician business, we have truly come to know the importance and value of helping one another out—we only succeed by working together. Not only does this mindset come into play when working in each of our customers’ homes, we also strive to extend it to the community of Sydney and the rest of the world on a whole.
This means a lot more than just being electricians. Our family provides its support to a number of organisations that are dedicated to bettering the lives of those in need.
For the past seven years we’ve sponsored World Vision, which works in roughly 1,600 communities throughout nearly 100 countries to combat hunger and break the cycle of poverty for millions of people.
We also support the Mental Health Association, which brings professionals, students, and volunteers together to raise community awareness about mental health related issues.
Additionally, we provide funding to MS Australia, which is the leading organization in the country when it comes to providing advocacy and research into the issues and challenges faced by those suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
Steve has been an active volunteer of the Rural Fire Brigade for many years. Proactively involved and always happy to lend a hand when fire safety is at risk.
